I thoroughly recommend this Sapphire 6870 card. The Fight for Justice gets Bigger, Badder, and More Quirkier! Even shelling out top dollar for the second one, and with no refund for the defective Powercolor 6870. I have such high confidence in the Sapphire cards I bought two of them. Keeps the internal case ambient temperature low.) In fact they stay well within operational temperatures, and honestly the fans are not loud to me, yet are highly effective (although I did design the air flow carefully, and use a Corsair H100 with the Radiator mounted at the top of the case with the fans blowing OUT for the CPU. Very stable, even under heavy load at Ulltra settings for a range of games. Overall Review: I have a Seasonic 1000 W Platinum PSU, and together with the Sapphire cards, they are a sweet combination. Especially if you are going to make them work. Just make sure if you Crossfire these you have 4 x 6 pin connectors and sufficient reliable power to support them. They look great too! Love these cards.Ĭons: None. They handle the loads I throw at them perfectly. I have absolute confidence in the Sapphire cards, so much so that I bought two for my set up.Įxtremely happy with the performance, quietness and effectiveness of the fans, and the ease of installation. The Sapphire cards have handled everything I've thrown at them. Hence I decided to get a second Sapphire 6870 and wont' use the Powercolor card since I value my set up too much to risk it Since I had sent in the rebate for the Powercolor and had to RMA it to the manufacturer, this left me without two cards to Crossfire (still waiting on getting that RMA'd card back weeks later). The Powercolor lasted about 5 hours of use time over 3 days and failed, and with NO load. Initially I purchased a Powercolor 6870 at the same time to crossfire. Pros: Great card - It's reliable, performs very well, easy to install, and frankly keeps cool very well even under extreme loads. That's all you have to do to get video AND sound via HDMI. Click on it, then click on the "Set Default" option. You'll see a choice called "AMD HDMI Output" or something similar to that. Go to the Start Menu -> Control Panel -> Sound.

Here's how to change it, so that sound comes out of the TV or other device that's hooked to your video card via HDMI: *Note regarding outputting video AND sound via HDMI*:īy default, you'll get video only via HDMI, with sound being outputted by the default analog audio jack (aka via headphones or speakers plugged to the green audio jack on your motherboard/sound card).

Overall Review: Using this card for my Hybrid HTPC/Gaming PC, hooked up to my 40" HDTV in the living room and I'm completely satisfied with the card: It's powerful enough to drive all my games at 1080p maxed out, while having a relatively low power consumption and while being silent, three things that are critical for my build. Best bang for your buck: This card's performance is unmatched for its relatively low price.Ĭons: If I really wanted to be picky, I'd say that it doesn't include an HDMI cable, but I do realize that not everyone needs one and that it would drive up the cost of the card. Silent, thanks to an efficient cooling system that features three large copper heatpipes. Capable of handling all the games that I've thrown at it so far at maxed out settings at 1080p. Has no problem outputting video and sound to my TV via the HDMI output.

Play your favorite games in full stereo 3D, and get incredibly rich and interactive gameplay with AMD HD3D technology. Pros: - Works out of the box with the latest AMD Catalyst drivers. With lightning-fast frame rates and ultra-realistic effects, the AMD Radeon HD 6800 Series enables an amazing HD gaming experience. :) I recommend these a lot, in this price range. AMDs latest card, the Radeon HD 6870, is here and, well, you can colour us fairly unimpressed. Yet, when they sit at my PC, I have them thinking of comming over to AMD. I have nVidea friends that try to convert me. They have never failed or needed warranty.
Sapphire has been my choice for 4 upgrades now. It's sometime a guess and a gut feeling on which cards to put your money into. I upgraded from a 4870 and the difference is big. I have run 3 video's (test) on 3 screens without a studder. I play some graphic intense games and they run awesome FPS. I am an overclocker, and have not overclocked these. I am reposting to share how great they continue to be. My arrangement is Eyefinity with 3X 22" Monitors.
Overall Review: I have 2 in Crossfire for almost a year. Low power consumption, compared to a lot of others
